I cannot recommend Grace Birthing Centre enough. My experience was truly incredible, and I will always be grateful to the amazing team who cared for me.
As someone with a history of postpartum depression, I was naturally anxious going into my birth. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel safe, understood, and supported. They didn’t just care for me physically—they cared for my emotional wellbeing too. They constantly checked in on me, not only during labour but afterwards as well, making sure I was coping and feeling okay. Knowing they were aware of my history and took it so seriously meant more to me than I can put into words.
During labour, they never left my side. Through every single contraction, there was always someone encouraging me, reassuring me, and reminding me that I could do it. Their calm presence, gentle words, and unwavering support gave me the strength I needed when I felt like I had nothing left to give.
A very special thank you to my midwives, Lihle and Francis. I am beyond grateful for the love, patience, and encouragement you showed me throughout my labour and birth. Your reassurance, compassion, and constant presence made all the difference. You made me feel strong, safe, and capable, and I will never forget the care you gave me during one of the most important moments of my life.
The birthing centre itself is beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming, but it’s the people who truly make it special. They made me feel seen, heard, and cared for every step of the way. They helped turn what could have been an overwhelming experience into one that I will always remember with gratitude.

It's a very different experience when the hospital you call your workplace becomes the place you entrust with your own greatest blessing. Throughout my pregnancy, I experienced firsthand the same compassion, reassurance, and exceptional care that I've watched my colleagues give so many other families.
Then, when it was finally time to welcome our precious Maya into the world, I wasn't just surrounded by colleagues—I was surrounded by friends, mentors, and people who felt like family. In my most vulnerable moments, you made me feel safe, heard, respected, and deeply cared for. That is a gift I will carry with me forever.
As a midwife, I've had the privilege of walking alongside so many women as they welcomed their babies into the world. I've always known how special this work is—but to actually experience pregnancy, labour, and birth myself has given me an entirely new appreciation for the care we provide. Walking this journey as both a midwife and a mother has deepened my empathy, strengthened my love for this profession, and reminded me that the smallest acts of kindness can leave the biggest impact.
